77,000 Tons of HIGH-LEVEL NUCLEAR WASTE
will be shipped through 43 STATES in route to
Nevada's Yucca Mountain if the Department of
Energy has its way. This affects all the people
of the United States, not just the people of
Nevada. How many of us have loved ones living
in the states that will be part of the transportation
routes? (See ROUTES "Info" button at bottom of page.)
Millions of people will be in danger of radiation
contaminations, cancers, and deaths. 100,000
SHIPMENTS for the next THIRTY YEARS -
A CATASTROPHE WAITING TO HAPPEN!
This does not have to happen. This high-level
TOXIC waste can stay on-site while better options
such as transmutation are perfected. The Nuclear
Regulatory Commission has testified that existing
on-site storage is safe for another 100 years.
THERE IS SOMETHING WE CAN DO ! AND THE TIME IS NOW!
Call your congressional representatives. Ask them
where the truck, train, and barge routes will be going
through your state and your loved one's states. You
will be shocked when you find out how close to home
this will be.
Tell your representatives you believe it's wrong to
endanger the lives of millions of Americans.
WE NEED TO SPEAK UP!
Call your loved ones and friends around the country.
Inform them about this insanity. Tell them to contact
their congressional representatives, too. We can not
just stand by and let them pull the wool over our eyes
by not informing us about the transporting of high-level
nuclear waste. Let's get to work, America, it's up to U.S.
